If you do not have insurance, you will incur all costs for any damaged, destroyed, or lost item. There are various storage insurance options open to you.
Your items are valuable to you, so when using a self-storage facility, make sure you protect your goods by getting a storage insurance plan.
Most household goods, personal property, business and commercial items that you may store within a rented storage space are covered by Customer Storage Insurance. Items that are not covered by Customer Storage Insurance include jewelry, precious stones, watches, furs, fur trimmed garments, money and securities. Motor vehicles, boats and recreational vehicles are not covered under this policy. You must contact the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia for insurance coverage.
